our little ava is officially two and a half! i decided to do a half birthday for her this year. partly because i missed out on her two year birthday. daniel did everything (including baking her cake) and i just got out of bed - watched her open presents and went back to bed - i was so sick in the first trimester. plus, since we all have summer birthdays, i wanted her to be able to celebrate with us. (not to mention, i didnt want christmas overshadowing her birthday too)
so... we did a little fun outdoor party for her with our family. it was low key - perfect for a half birthday party. i made a little tassel banner (tutorial link here), got some fun little plates and cups, and decorated the back patio.
i made a yummy white cake and *attempted* to make a diary free frosting from coconut milk. sadly... the fat never separated from the milk and it didnt turn out. boo. so i had to turn to a buttercream frosting... which was ok. (but nothing really beats whipped cream frosting!)
it was just a fun night! happy (half) birthday to my sweet adorable ava!! we love you and all the spunk and fun you bring to our home!

you are SUCH a good, creative, fun, beautiful mom. your girls are so lucky to have you. i wish i had the amount of creativity you have in your pinky finger. you amaze me.
