so for christmas, we keep it simple. this is what we do:
something you want, something you need
something to wear, something to read
(we also do christmas pajamas and a santa gift)
i love it because its simple. and the girls really think about the things they want. they know they are not getting the entire toys r us catalog. and... i have noticed (we've been doing this for about 5 years now) that their 'want' toys are really loved and valued. before, the kids (well it was just aly and amy then...) would get tons of toys. some wouldnt even get touched. and most times they were overwhelmed with toys. so this way really works for us.
anyway... abby's 'read' present. i wanted to do something special. obviously, she cant read books yet. and even some of the flap/cardboard books we got ava have been shredded. so i came across this tutorial. it was perfect! a softie book! and even better yet, photos of the people who love her.
it was pretty easy to do... the hardest thing was finding the time do make it. and i think i finished up just a day before christmas. but... i love homemade gifts, and i really hope this will be special to her!

you are amazing!
