carnival.

friday, the school had its fall carnival. aly has been talking about the carnival since school started last month. she was soooo excited. i'll admit that i wasnt quite as excited. my first thing was: money. they charged for wrist bands (for the rides), then there were the tickets on top of that (for the games and food)... and all i saw were $$. and right now, while we are trying to save for the house... i didnt want to go spend $40 on a carnival. (because... that could buy the bedding set im eyeing over at target right now.)

anyway, we came up with a plan. there were a few free things- like the face painting and balloons, and then we let them pick one ride. (we also didnt want amy on the bouncy things... her little friend slammed her fingers in the front door. we thought they were broken because they swelled so much. but after a trip to the urgent care, and an x-ray later... no broken bones! hooray! just a splint for a week. which was good, because it took a good 5 days for the swelling and bruising to go down. poor thing.) :(

they decided to ride on the swings. perfect. it was $1 per ride. then aly had won some tickets at school, so we only had to buy one more ticket for amy to have cotton candy. carnival total: $3. and the kids had a fabulous time. (and so did we!)
