home design.

really, now that i am caught up on most of my editing- and not taking sessions until after the baby- my thoughts are turning toward designing our house. and im so excited about it. while we have lived at my parents house, its given me a chance to realize why i love putting together my own house. a place that represents our family. i didnt realize how much inspiration for photography- and even just life- comes from being surrounded by my favorite photos, or colors that make me feel happy. so, i've been trying to define my style. i love vintage. but i also love modern. and i hope that i can put together a place that reflects us. :)

and of course... (and more along my budget!) the DI! i have seriously found some super awesome stuff here. i just look at anthro and pottery barn for inspiration. target = love and the di... yeah im kinda there way too much. ;)

and for things that have caught my eye... (i found a lot of these at 6th street design school)

really loving the tones (and the photos on canvas!) and the white couches. trying to convince daniel to go with white couches. (that have a slip cover of course) still working on that one. ;)


and of course the ever famous ikea expedit storage peice. we actually got this one for the girls' room. we are going to turn it on its side, and i am going to attach some modern 50's inspired legs to it (just to give it a tad bit of height. not dining table height or anything). and, we have to to because there's is an HVAC vent right under where i want it to go. lol.


really love the retro feel to this.
